About us

IVA Helpline (ivahelpline.co.uk) is a trading style of Simply Quote Comparison Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15008284. Registered office: Sentinel House, Ancells Business Park, Harvest Crescent, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 2UZ.

The IVA Helpline service is provided on our behalf by Complete 2 Financial Solutions Ltd, company number 15167030.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Simply Quote Comparison Ltd, trading as IVA Helpline. “You” means anyone using this website or our service.

By using this website or our service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

What the service is

IVA Helpline is an introduction service. We publish general information about individual voluntary arrangements (IVAs) and the other ways of dealing with problem debt, and we help people who want to explore an IVA get in touch with someone who can assess it.

When you use the online check or call us, an adviser from Complete 2 Financial Solutions Ltd will go through your answers with you and explain, in general terms, how the options work. If you want to go ahead, and only with your agreement, they can introduce you to:

  • A licensed insolvency practitioner, who will assess whether an IVA is suitable for you. Only an insolvency practitioner can set up and run an IVA.
  • The provider of another debt solution you have chosen.

IVAs are not available in Scotland. If you live there, we can explain the Scottish alternatives, such as a protected trust deed, and where to get free advice.

We do not act as your agent or as the agent of any provider, and we will not agree anything on your behalf.

Regulation

We do not give regulated debt advice. IVAs are set up and supervised by licensed insolvency practitioners, who are regulated by their professional bodies under the oversight of the Insolvency Service, not by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Any provider we introduce you to works under its own terms and regulatory arrangements, and will explain them to you before you agree to anything.

What it costs

There is no charge for using this website, the online check or our service, and no obligation to go ahead with anything. We do not receive a fee for introductions.

An IVA has costs. The insolvency practitioner’s fees are taken from the payments you make into the IVA, and the practitioner must explain them to you in writing before you agree to anything. See IVA fees.

Free debt advice

You do not have to use our service. Free, impartial debt advice is available from organisations such as MoneyHelper, StepChange, Citizens Advice and National Debtline. See where to get free debt advice.

Your responsibilities

  • Please give us information that is accurate and complete, as far as you know. The help we can give depends on it.
  • Tell us if your circumstances change.
  • Keep paying your essential bills, such as rent or mortgage, council tax and energy, while you look at your options.

What we cannot promise

Whether an IVA is suitable for you is decided by an insolvency practitioner, and whether it goes ahead is decided by your creditors. We cannot guarantee that you will be offered an IVA, that your creditors will accept a proposal, or how much of your debt might be written off.

Information on this website

The guides on this website are general information, written to help people understand IVAs and the alternatives. They are not advice about your own circumstances.

We work hard to keep them accurate and up to date, and each guide shows when it was last checked. But the law, fees and limits change. Please do not rely on the website alone before making a decision. Speak to a licensed insolvency practitioner, or to a free debt advice service.

Where we link to other websites, such as GOV.UK or the Insolvency Service, we do so because we think they will help. We are not responsible for their content.

Our responsibility to you

We accept no responsibility for the products, services or conduct of any provider we introduce you to, including insolvency practitioners and providers of other debt solutions.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms
